The church is open to visitors every day
St Peter's Church is open on a daily basis, normally from around 9 am - 4 pm. The building can be an oasis of peacefulness in a busy world. Please feel welcome to make use of your church - it is here for you.
Throughout the year there is a steady stream of visitors to St Peter's from the local area, from all over the UK and from all corners of the globe. We encourage visitors to explore our ancient church and enjoy our lovely village. Clayworth is a canalside village, set in rolling countryside and there are several good walks leading from the village.
Along the main street from the church there are two excellent pubs, the Blacksmiths Bar and Restaurant and the Brewers Arms. Both are open for lunch and evening meals.
The inscription above the sundial on the south porch:
'OUR DAYS ON THE EARTH ARE AS A SHADOW'
Timecheck church clock and sundial:
It must be 13:45 GMT on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in January, both read the same time (ancient and (not so)modern).
